15-mark Writing Question

For this question, there are three compulsory bullet points that you must cover — you don’t need to cover the bullet points equally. There are 10 marks available for ‘Communication’ and 5 marks for ‘Grammar and vocabulary’.

9-10 You cover all three bullet points and communicate clearly. Your ideas are developed and you convey a lot of information. 7-8 You cover all three bullet points and mostly communicate clearly. Your ideas are often developed and you convey quite a lot of information. 5-6 You cover at least two bullet points and generally communicate clearly. You develop a few ideas and convey some information. 3-4 You cover at least one bullet point and sometimes communicate clearly. You convey little information. 1-2 You cover at least one bullet point. Your communication is often unclear and you convey very little information. 0 Does not meet the standard required for 1 mark. 5 You use a good variety of vocabulary with complex language and structures. You use all three time frames and any errors are mainly minor. 4 You use a variety of vocabulary and attempt to use complex language and structures. You use at least two time frames and errors are mainly minor. 3 You use some variety of vocabulary and occasionally attempt complex language and structures. You try to use at least two time frames. There are regular minor errors and may be some major errors. 2 You use a limited variety of vocabulary and use mainly simple language. You might fail to use different time frames and make regular errors. 1 Your vocabulary is narrow and/or repetitive. You use simple language and structures. There is very limited development of ideas. 0 Does not meet the standard required for 1 mark. 5 You use a very good variety of appropriate vocabulary and grammatical structures with regular successful attempts at complex language. 4 You use a good variety of appropriate vocabulary and grammatical structures with regular, generally successful attempts at complex language. 3 You use some variety of appropriate vocabulary and grammatical structures with occasional, sometimes successful attempts at complex language. 2 You use a limited variety of vocabulary and grammatical structures.
