1) The content for AQA GCSE French is divided into nine topics . Each topic falls under one of three themes :

2) In this book, there is usually one section for each topic. However, some topics have been split into two sections to make things more manageable. There’s also a section of mixed practice at the end of each theme. 3) Section One covers ‘General Stuff’ , with content that’s useful across the course. 4) There are also three grammar sections that cover the grammar you need to know. 3 e p ns

You can sit Higher or Foundation tier

1) You can choose to sit the Higher‑tier exams or the Foundation‑tier exams . You have to do the same tier for all four French exams. Here are the main differences between them: . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

• In Foundation tier , there’s less vocabulary and less grammar to learn and the questions are slightly easier. In this tier, you can earn up to Grade 5 . • In Higher tier , you can achieve Grades 4-9 , but you’ll need to learn more vocab and more complex grammar . • Speak to your teacher if you’re not sure which tier you’re sitting.
